Chaga

Chaga mushroom has a whole host of benefits that are helpful in supporting the body through antioxidant properties it possesses. Chaga is extremely high in antioxidants consisting of poly phenols, beta-glucan, triterpenes, and melanin - which assist with protection of cells from free radical and oxidative stress damage. Chaga is a potent source of melanin and may help protect the skin and hair from sun damage since they have a role in DNA repair, cell metabolism, mitochondria health and protection from light and radiation. Chaga may boost the immune system, have anti-inflammatory effects on the body, could prevent cancer and tumor growth, supports cardiovascular health, supports anti-diabetic effects, supports neuroprotective effects, and contains antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Fun Fact: Chaga primarily grows on the bark of birch trees in cooler climates. Chaga is called sclerotium - a compacted mass of mycelium which grows on the trees. The birch trees contain certain compounds that give chaga its healthy properties. The black chaga conk that is harvested consists mostly of wood lignans from the tree host combined with the invasive fungus’s mycelium. So the chaga will contain birch compounds such as betulin and betulinic acid.

*We use sustainably wild harvested Chaga from the USA - Chaga cannot grow in our tropical weather conditions since it requires birch tree hosts growing in cold climates.*
